International regulations to keep in mind.
– Your cats and dogs will need to be inoculated against rabies thirty days prior to departure.
– A health certificate must be issued by your local veterinarian fourteen days prior to departure.
– Both the rabies inoculation certificate and the health certificate then have to be endorsed by the office of the State Veterinarian.
– Import permits for pets are required by most countries.
– Quarantine is a requirement for many countries, for example the United Kingdom – six months, Australia – seven months (three months in South Africa and four months in Australia), New Zealand – the same as for Australia.
